The PS Group realises that no development is complete without taking care of our unfortunate brothers and sisters who are unemployed, due to lack of skills who can hardly ever get an opportunity to better their plight. Thus, the PS Group has embarked on addressing various social causes. In the event you have any genuine concern for the society which you feel strongly and would like to share or join hands with PS Group, do write to us for the same. NAYEE DISHA

With a view to address both the problem of unemployment in the youth of the city-based slums and to ensure that adequate number of trained manpower is made available for the maintenance and upkeep of the housing complexes as well as to ensure adequate availability of domestic help in our housing complexes, PS started an initiative called ‘NAYEE DISHA’. This initiative was launched to empower illiterate slum dwellers through training by expert faculty members to become skilled trained gardeners, cleaners, domestic help, cooks, house keepers, drivers etc. This training is imparted free of cost with daily sustenance allowance and free afternoon meal with employment guarantee.

PROJECT SUNSHINE

A joint venture with NGO’s Nayeedisha and Asha Sanchar, ‘Project Sunshine’ imparts training to the underprivileged, mainly orphaned children from juvenile homes, giving them an opportunity to make a respectable living . Many opt for training to become drivers, a supply gap for which exists in our city. This car was donated by The PS Group towards the project to facilitate this cause.

EFFORTS TO BEAUTIFY THE CITY

The PS Group had taken upon itself, albeit in a small way also to help beautify the city’s skyline. By agreeing to re-paint the exterior of any PS Building, even if it is 21 years old, the group bears 50% of the total cost. This was an effort to delight the customers by offering much more than what is promised or expected by them.  

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE

PS is also involved in skill development of physically handicapped children and therefore they have adopted the ITI for physically challenged boys and girls located at S.N. Banerjee Road, Kolkata, under the Public Private scheme set out by Central Government. After adoption of one and a half years back, PS has adopted the ITI to a centre of excellence. Today people involved in vocational training from around the country come to visit this ITI which is supposed to be India’s best ITI vocational training and is role model for people involved in vocational training particularly for physically challenged boys and girls. 

WELFARE FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED

PS is also involved in the Welfare Society of the Blind where they have set up an audio studio where most of the printed books are converted into audio format so that vision impaired children can learn and get educated through audio books. Over 200 books are printed into audio format and a library is being created for audio books both at the Welfare Society of the Blind as well as the ITI for physically challenged boys and girls.  

KNOWLEDGE SHARING IN PUBLIC DOMAIN

PS has distributed over 1 Lac copies of books on Real Estate and Better Living which has been uploaded at various Real Estate Forums.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR DREAM APARTMENT

As there was no material available in the market to enable an ordinary home seeker to take informed decision for buying an apartment, one of his biggest financial decisions, we decided to write this booklet to meet this important need. 

SIMPLE TOOLS FOR COMPLEX LIVING

This booklet was written to educate residents how to live in large housing complex in total harmony. Most of the time people unintentionally irritate or offend others which results into major fights, whereby the entire building and the community suffers. Such unpleasant incidents can be avoided if each of the residents follow simple rules and take care of the common facilities and amenities as their own.

HOW GREEN IS YOUR HOUSING COMPLEX

To create awareness about environment protection amongst the residents of housing complexes and the house building industry, this booklet was released by His Excellency the Governor of West Bengal on World Environment Day.

It was also distributed during the tree plantation drive organized on the World Environment Day by PS Group along with ‘Art of Living Foundation.’ 

YOUR GUIDE TO PREVENT FIRE IN HOUSING COMPLEX

On the request of the West Bengal Fire Department and the Fire Minister, this booklet was for distribution during Fire Awareness Week in the exhibition organized by the West Bengal Fire Department. This booklet was released by the Fire Minister of West Bengal Mr.Pratim Chatterjee. 

BE MONEY SMART

This booklet was published in association with HSBC Bank for distribution through their various branches to create awareness about importance of saving and investment and how to go about taking home loans among ordinary householders

HOW SECURE IS YOUR HOME

Dedicated to our police force, this booklet provides valuable tips for home and personal security. It educates the home-owner on available hi-tech security devices at one end while on the other, gives advice on how to protect children and senior citizens. 

HOW TO REMAIN EVER HAPPY

To help patients in various private as well as govt. hospitals, P S Group has donated over 5000 copies of “How To Remain Ever Happy” by Er.M.K.Gupta, in English, Hindi and Bengali (translations were carried out at the insistence of P.S Group) to address problems of high stress levels, which is the main cause of most of ailments in present times.

SALAAM INDIA

‘Salaam India’ is a compilation of extraordinary feats achieved by ordinary citizens of India. This was a fitting tribute to the millions of Indians who do extraordinary things everyday inspite of immense hardships, and treat it as just another act in the story called life.

SRESTHA UPAHAR... THE PERFECT OFFERING
